National Pass-Thyme

Hello fellow Bob’s Burgers fans (and non-fans),

Have you ever watched an episode and though pls give me that burger now? Well we have, and apparently we’re not the only ones. There are entire blogs dedicated to the burgers, there’s even a cookbook that we learned about after deciding to make one of the burgers. Join us on this culinary journey, to recreate the National Pass-Thyme from The Unnatural, Season 3, Episode 23.

First, we attempted to find a recipe online which suggested we create a red, white and blue burger presentation. To do this we used white herb-infused goat cheese, tomatoes and planned on serving blue plates, but we don’t have those. whoops. From there we improvised.

Our ingredients were:

  • Brioche Rolls
  • Ground Turkey
  • Paprika
  • Panko
  • One Egg
  • Tomatoes
  • Lettuce
  • Mint
  • Thyme
  • Garlic and Herb Chevre
  • Sweet Potato Fries

To make the patties we mashed up the ground turkey with 1 egg, a heaping amount of paprika, salt, pepper, and panko bread crumbs to make the patties bind together.

Then we got our herbs together to infuse the goat cheese.

We are ~grill-less~ so we cooked up the patties on the stove. We didn’t add oil to the pan, and cooked them on medium heat until they were done all the way through. We checked the inside a few times to be sure.

We cut open these fancy-ass buns we got at Trader Joe’s. Are they meant for burgers? unclear. Do they taste good? Yes.

To make the goat cheese spread we cut up the herbs and mixed them into the goat cheese. We put a shit ton of thyme in, so in cooking terms maybe a few tablespoons? and a little bit of mint (a few leaves).

After we toasted the buns we put a heaping amount of goat cheese on the top. Added lettuce, patty and tomato to the other side and we were ready to go.

The finished product? A delicious burger, sweet potato fries and an unnecessary amount of ketchup. Overall, we’re pretty pleased with the way they turned out. Our ingredients made about 4 big burgers and we demolished the fries. We would definitely recommend making for a viewing party of the show. Comment and let us know if you want recipes for another one of Bob’s burgers, or let us know your favorite episodes!

Love, peace and burger grease,

B&L
